So here are earings, either dark silver pearls or dark brown pearls both from Swarovski.

Also, I have 1 long sterling silver long chain of this type, don't look at the necklace, just the chain which is the fine chain- fine ball -fine chain - fine ball...

A picture is worth a thousand words...

I never thought I would be a slave to my camera...I just finished a custom order and now I cannot send the picture to my client as I forgot my camera on the boat! Arggggggh!

A picture is worth a thousand words, that's a saying in French and right now, I am living it! No matter how many words I use to explain the necklace I have just finished, I cannot replace the picture!

Anyhow, Isabelle, here is a picture of a cluster with similar beads - not all the same as some of the greys did not match the purle hearts - I have made yours with only a cluster, no bars, a bit bigger and with the hearts, which are the main course!!!

It's blue here in Montreal!

I have not posted for a little while...it's been pouring for last 5 days and there's no sunshine in view for a couple of days ...  so inspiration is at a neutral!

I've had my first order for a men's necklace, thank goodness for saving me!!! So I've chosen to use wooden beads and a handpicked shell from a beach on the coast off the Indian Ocean in Australia...from my last trip.

Here it is:

New found use...

So I ordered these columns and when I received them, I thought they were great but alone they looked kind of dull...so here is how I rejuvenated one of them!

This necklace is about 21 inches long and ties around the neck in the front.

It would be perfect for a wedding! Don't you think so?

How to store your silver jewelry - 3

This is a popular and important subject - how to keep your sterling silver and silver plated jewelry from tarnishing too quickly.

Number 1: DO NOT KEEP YOUR SILVER IN YOUR BATHROOM. I've had the experience - in a matter of 2 months, my sterling silver earring hooks turned black because I had left them in the medicine cabinet! Thank goodness for an amazing liquid that cleans jewelry, I wiped off all tarnish. But had I not had that liquid, I would have probably thrown them in the garbage.

So all of you who bought jewelry from Chloé & Me Jewelry, please keep your jewelry out of the bathroom.

Number 2: keep a piece of chalk with your jewelry - it will keep the area dry.

Number 3: do not keep your jewelry in a wooden box. It's much safer to keep them in a plastic bag. Just use a Ziplock!

Number 4: If you can have access to Pacific Cloth, then place your jewelry in that cloth! I will soon sell some of that cloth...

Hope this helps!

Earrings...we all love them!

I've been making so many necklaces that I sort of left my earrings behind. Now that spring has arrived, let's take off our hats and show our ears!!!

How to store your silver - 2

Ok so I've posted about how to store your silver before but now that I've done a bit of research, I've just realized that I made a mistake. I've stored my pieces in a wooden box. Apparently that's a no-no!

Here's a link to a site which gives different tips.

In the Navy

It occurred to me that I had not made a navy blue necklace when my friend tried them on and mentioned that she wore alot of navy...so I looked into my stash of beads and found the perfect match, silver and navy blue! Why didn't I think of that sooner? I guess it's always good to have a second pair of eyes!!

How to store your silver jewelry

Now that I have a tremendous amount of jewelry, I need to protect it from the ultimate culprit, ta, ta, ta - HUMIDITY!

How, do you ask? I am asking myself the same question. Here is an interesting article on the subject: http://www.buzzle.com/articles/anti-tarnish-jewelry-boxes-and-silver-jewelry.html

I think I might start by using my daughter's chalk (as it removes effiently humidity, thus retarding the action of tarnishing) for the moment until I can find either Pacific Cloth or Tarnish strips.

My fav

OK, so I'm almost ready for the first private sale! I had a couple of hurdles, but I think I overcame them.

As I am laying out all the necklaces on the table, I am having a hard time deciding which one I prefer. My whole selection of crystals started with me wanting a starfish. Next thing I knew, I sold them all! Now, I promise myself that I will hold on to this one!

Preparing for a private sale...

So I am preparing for a first private sale. I need to finish some pendants and I am running out of chain!!! To top it off, I promised my friends I would make the Oh-so-French macarons, well...I ruined them! They look like little cookies!

I made some this weekend and they looked perfect! They tasted great as well, so I felt - I guess very cocky - and thought, that's it, I can now master the art of making macarons. WRONG! It's an art not to be taken for granted.

Thank goodness I took a picture of them, take a look:

So I made the light tent this weekend...

I need to work on the lighting issue, I don't have proper lights, so I used natural light. Thank goodness for the sunshine today for the first time in about a week!!!!

Here are a couple of pictures:

Glad I love arts and crafts

Boy am I ever glad I love arts & crafts and sewing. I am in the process of making my DIY light tent to take pictures of my jewelry and I need some things that not every household has:

1) Muslin (cotton used to make lining of clothes) - CHECKED!
2) scisors to cut the box! Hummmm, well you know what? Can't do it with the scisors, but you know what I have? Exacto knife! Wohoo for equiping myself with scrapbooking tools!!! - CHECKED!
3) masking tape - Thanks babe for the tape ;-) - CHECKED!
4) Glue or spray glue - Ha! I have spary glue I used to make poppy boutonnières - go to Grosgrain Blog for the cool tutorial http://grosgrainfabulous.blogspot.com/2009/09/poppy-boutonniere-tutorial-and-giveaway.html. - CHECKED!

I think I am all set, I hope to take at least one picture today...

I Heart You

Gorgeous necklace, really, I am totally in love with this piece...

How to make a light tent

My last creation prior to receiving the latest Swarovski crystals, was sold instantly! Great! But I didn't have time to take a picture of it!

Taking photographs takes time, almost more time than making the jewelry. My friend bought a tent with lighting, I'd love to get one but I found this great DIY light tent and it looks like I have the equipment. With the rest of my Muslin cotton I used to make a skirt last summer (which I am very proud of, especially the invisible zipper, which was my first one!! Ha!), I can line the box.

This will be my weekend project! Check this tutorial out!

It finally arrived!

I just received my new material! YEAH!!!!!

I have lovely new crystals, clear, light pink, bermuda blue, topaz, aquamarine, red...

Starfish, stars, funky squares and much more!

I also received new sterling silver chain. I can make 3 necklaces out of it - coupled with a stunning starfish or a wild heart, such as this one, it will be a piece that you will want to wear everyday, like your LBD!

How creativity can be forced sometimes - day 2

As I was saying yesterday, I am forced to use what I have to create new pieces. Here's a bracelet I just finished, it's easy going but can also add a nice touch to a business suit without being too dramatic!

Let's see what I can manage to do today!

How creativity can be forced sometimes - day 1

I usually get my stuff shipped by Fedex. I thought I could try Canada Post this time...

Huh, let me tell you it's the LAST time I use them. I ordered over 2 weeks ago and my shipment is still on the other side of the country! If I had used Fedex I would be way up to my neck in necklaces and other creations!

In the meantime, I am forced to be creative, which is actually a blessing. I have to use the georgous crystal rounds and pearls from Swarovski that I ordered back in December. I am presently making a bracelet with charms made out of these pearls and rounds...

I was playing with the different colours and with 1 briolette that I had - I was really wondering why in heck I had bought only one? What was I thinking? -, well, here is what I made yesterday, and I love it!

It's true what they say that in order to be creative you need to try different things and it will all unfold right in front of your eyes.

Gotta to get back to work before Chloé wakes up from her nap...

Can I exercise please?

Saturday morning, making pancakes as a family and sipping coffee, ahhhhhhh how I love Saturdays! Since I am in the mood, I decide to pull out my mat from under the couch and do a bit of Pilates.

Toddler "Awwwww, I want to do it tooo!"
Mommy "Ok, I'll get you your own mat"
Toddler "Yeahhhhhh".

Ok, that'll be fine, I'll be able to do it without interruption as she will be busy imitating me.

WRONG!

Why are toddlers like cats? They are exactly where you are stepping next, where you are kicking next and where you are stretching next! I swear, one day, God forbid, there will be an accident!

Anyways, got to do some and now back to my work table where I need to finish silk cords (which is the non-fun part of making jewelry) for relaxed necklaces, like this one!

Happy Saturday!

Yum, it reminds me of cherries

Ok, I just finished one of the rare bracelet available at Chloé & Me Jewelry!

I got this idea while I was nursing my baby in the middle of the night...this is a time when I am the most creative!

I am totally in love with these red beads and pendants and am constantly looking for ways to enhance their beauty, if at all possible. After all, Swarovski's crystals are magnificent at their raw state!

True blood...

Ohhhhhh, how this one reminds me this show True Blood, don't you think? I love it!

E-mail me to get one of your own!

Defibrillator

I think this crystal is now alive, check it out!

Whiteout...l'enfer blanc!

Well, the weather outside is frightful!

I wanted to get my clothing display so I can take better pictures of my necklaces on a display instead of on me! But...I guess I will have to forego that idea, check out the weather here in Montreal this morning!

Waiting and waiting...

I am waiting impatiently for my shipment of new Swarovski crystals and components that I need to continue my work!

I can't wait to see how I can create new necklaces. I have ordered many more starfishes of various colours. There is one that is Bermuda blue! It's absolutely fabulous! It shines like nobody's business!!

Here is a picture of a necklace I made for my fiend Gen in this peacock bermuda blue. Doesn't it remind you of the ocean?

I still dream of living on a beach somewhere one day...I think it's just sain to dream!

Bonne journée!

It`s sometimes a challenge...

Juggling a nursing baby, a toddler about to turn 4, making supper AND making jewelry can sometimes be a circus act!

Yesterday I was trying to take pictures of my new stuff while the kids were napping. Well, let me tell you that it takes more than an hour to organize it all, plus, the fact that the light changes every minute, you have to be quick and be prepared to change your position all the time. I took about 10 shots before my baby woke up and then the toddler woke up. Then she wanted to see EVERY shot that I was taking on the camera and be in the picture (of course she does not understand that the picture is to show off the necklace not the face).

Soooooooo here is a picture of a necklace on a long chain, including the very expensive accessories = the kids...hanging off of me!

I like this necklace, it's simple, and can go with a variety of tops like a turtle neck. I can see it bringing to life an ordinary white t-shirt.

This one will be mine...ya, famous last words...

Other things I want to do...

Near the end of my pregnancy, I started sewing again and made tons of handbags...I just received a new sewing machine and can't wait to use it!

Here is my next purse with this funky fabric my fiend gave me. Thanks Anne-Marie!!

I get inspired by this woman who sews like a queen, check out her blog at Gros grain fabulous!

Attempt to show how it fits...

Here is a picture that I tried to take to show you how my new line of necklaces fit on the neck...

I will try new pictures in the days to come to replace them, as I am not sure I like them that much! I need a model!!

Anyways, here it is.

Back to the cold...

Well, I am back from Australia...it is bitter sweet, bitter b/c of the darn BITTER cold of winter but sweet to get back into creating again.

The warmth, sounds and smells of Western Australia inspired me to create these new necklaces. This one reminds me of this great wine from the Leeuwin estate. Ohhh so yummy...
